How can I repair my bumper?
I reciently bought a toyota which has painted plastic bumpers that have some deep scrapes. How do I repair these?

samisalahuddin:  You can use so called "touch-up" paints. You might also find some kind of filler for deep scrapes. Try 2 find these things in spare parts shop.

theleb63:  If the scrapes do NOT break the clear surface you can try to use a compound to take the discoloration off. The scrapes (you can catch a fingernail on are through the clear) - the touch up paints will hide it / at night (grin). they are not very good solutions. Most body shops will repair bumpers (without tears) for 75.00 or so each (that does depend on your area, and the color of the car, as well as how deep the scratches really are) - I would suggest calling a local body shop to see what they would charge, you may be surprised. dogdude1969:  put some touch up paint on them would be your best bet. Plastic bumpers today are made of a poly which requires a 2 part filler to fix rips or deep scratches. It is usually expensive and nasty stuff to use. It is not at all like bondo and usually is not available to the general public. Though you may check some auto parts stores they may have a compatable expoxy filler but I doubt it. Then just sand primer and spray with a can of touch up paint.
