Car in repair shop for over 2 months and not close to repair. What Kind of recourse could I take?
Initially the shop said my vehical would be repaired in 20 business days but it has been 2 months and car is still barely close to finish. I paid half for repairs but now I just want to end my business with them and hopfully get some of my money back. What legal recourse can I take an could I get all my initial payment back or just some?

Lindasue: It depends on your state. Call your local state senators office and tell them your problem. I know in California there is a state office, but try your state department of consumer protection. They should be able to direct you.

Vulcan 1: You better get a lawyer on this one
They can refuse to give your money back if they performed enough work to cover what you gave them
BUT 2 MONTHS..
Is the car worth the repair ?
IF SO
Go see them everyday, stay in their way enough to aggravate the (****) out of them
Tell them you need the car NOW not 6 months from now
Keep at them they will eventually get tired of you and fix it or tell you to take it home
If they tell you to take it home ask for all your money or your going to report them to the
Better Business Bureau
Hmmm
Scare them with OSHA
Is their shop a slum

john f: There is no excuse for being in a shop over 2 weeks. Keep accurate records of your converstaions include dates times and who you spoke too in case you need court action in the furture. Some states have a better business bureau which may give you advice on your next move. gl
