EQ: Just look up auto body shops in the phone book and get several estimates. The guys from the Car Talk show on NPR have a website with a section where you can look up mechanics in your area and see who other people recommend. It's not really body shops, but it might be worth looking at. http://www.cartalk.com/content/mechx/

Melgar: I am not sure what you mean by "the back end is gone." What I would do is get partial repairs. For example, you could get the rear bumper replaced and your quarter pannels fixed without getting a new paint job. It would look bad, but the car would run. I say this because Macco is normally as cheap as it gets. The only other thing I can think of is to find someone who is in training (or needs testimonials for a new shop) and see if you can get them to do it at a discount.
Good luck.

oklatom: When you choose not to carry collision on your insurance, you are essentially saying "I'm betting I won't ever have an accident, and if I do, the car isn't worth the cost of collision." You've lost the bet it appears. Macco is usually the cheapest. You might consider another vehicle, and sell that one for parts or take it to the crusher.
