written estimate for auto repair?
BAR for california question. Written estimate and invoice. If doing business with another company and not an individual consumer. is it required by bar, and state regs that a repair shop have a signed invoice from another company. Example: It is required that each invoice must be signed by the consumer for repairs. my question -is Does a company who contracts with a repair shop for services required to sign the final invoice?or is it not necessary?

hollywoodandy: I work at a dealership in southern california and we are required to get a signature from anyone we write a estimate on.Another shop is still a customer.As the B.A.R. states write it right.

Ironhand: Hollywood has it right. Besides, why take a chance? Even if the authorization is signed by a shop "grunt", he still represents the client shop.
