Cost and labor install used engine '94 toyota pickup?
Recently my toyota pickup started stalling on idle and overheating. My reliable, excellent repair shop said the engine needs to be replaced because there is coolant and metal flakes in the oil pan and the timing belt is loose. Truck still runs OK. I trust the shop because in the past they have always done the lowest cost repair needed. What do you think of their solution as all I want to do is sell the truck once I get it in reliable shape? What would approx cost should be for a used engine for this vehicle and how many hours to replace it? I actually have a guy who works out of his home who has done big jobs for me for cheap and I just want to get an idea if it's worth replacing the engine or should I junk the truck. Once repaired I could get 2.5k $ for it. Thanks!

get_r_done_79:  well i have done it and it took me 3 days!!! is it a 4 or 6 cyl?? if its a 4 u prob. just need a timing chain, gears, and guides!! that'll run u abut 125 or so!! and u can do it ur self. a new engine runs round 4-800$ depending on miles.the best thing to do is sell it the way it is and let someone else deal with it!!! or u can fix it urself and run it more!!! SO ALL TOTAL BOUT 2000$$$
