goofy_dude67: your van should have a resistor for the blower motor, or possibly a relay that controls blower speed. If it works on high, the motor is good, and if all the other positions dont, I doubt you have a switch issue, probably what they call a blower motor resistor has failed.

momma2callee: Both the blower motor and the resistor. The blower motor draws too many amps and burns up the resistor. Replace both at the same time.
Most of the time when you only replace the resistor, it will fail again cause by the amp issue

Renacuajo: In my opinion, It is either the switch, resistor, or even a false connection from one of the connectors.
The Motor is one speed, so either works or not, the relay will also be works/don't work situation.
I have seen resistor failure more often, and the symptom is just that.
The switch sends the electricity to either the motor directly (full speed) or to one of the resistor's pathway, which offers different resistances, therefore creating the additional speeds. If it burns, you will only have high speed. You will normally be able to see the destroyed resistor.

ilovejoint69: that happened to my dads toyota, except it didnt go on at all, we found out it was the motor that had to be replaced. i'm sorta guessing its not that because when you're motor go's you know it.

gdwrnch40: Sounds like the common side of the speed resistors is burnt up.

stallion1948_lloyd: first thing i would do is change the switch.thats what usually goes first.
