Toyota Corolla car problem..... help!?
I have a 95 Toyota Corolla and recently changed the water pump and timing belt. Now, 2 months later it's making funny noises. It's happening more often and I don't know what it is or if it's related to the new upgrades. The noise sounds like soft firecrackers (rumbling) and seems to come from the passenger side dash board. I makes this noise when the car is on and not moving and also when I'm driving it around town. When I drove it on the freeway it didn't make that noise. I opened the hood to check to see where the noise was coming from but I couldn't hear it even though the car was running and my roomate who was sitting inside on the driver side heard it.
Thanks in advance for answering this question!

Brian the mobile repair man: with the engine off and the ignition on do you still here it turn the heter off and on is that where its coming from something may have fallen into the fan if it is in the engine its probally the idler that the timing belt runs around..... use a pipe and listen through it to zero in on the noise .....dont hit the belts or pullies that would be bad
