Can I use a repair manual for a 1995 Honda Civic for my car even though it's a 1998?
I need to replace the thermostat and my friend has a manual for 1991-1995 models, and I was hoping I could just use that manual.

smoke:  Cars change in design sometimes a lot and sometimes very little from year to year. If the manual does not cover the year of your car it may be close, but some components may differ from what the book says. If all you want to do is change the thermostat that is very simple. Just remove two or three bolts replace thermostat and replace bolts. You may have to remove the top radiator hose first depending on the car.

marinespill:  No. Half the procedures and specs might have changed in three years. Don't risk major trouble to save $20 on the right manual.
