toyota corolla (uk spec)?
i went to look at a 1999 t-reg toyota corolla 1.3 g6, when i took it for a test drive everytime i accelerated there was a strange noise coming from what sounds like the gearbox. the sales men told me all these age toyotas make this noise. is this true.

Ladyfromdrum: I used to have a Corrolla and it didn't make a noise. Personally, I'd drop it like a hot potato. There are plenty of other cars around. Make sure of a full service history and, if you can afford it, an engineer's report. AA do them. It might seem a lot of money, but can be cheaper in the long run should there be a major fault which could cost you several hundred pounds.
