my car makes a ticking sound when i go to start it. then the power shuts off. ?
the car would make a ticking sound and then the lights would cut off. When i slam my door shut all the light in the car would come on, then i go to start it again and it ticks then the lights shut off again. My alarm will go off at any moment for no reason. i even started my car a few days ago then the trunk popped open!

E. F. Hutton: Sounds like a typical after-market alarm system failure. Does it still start? It could be a dead battery. Alarm systems will misbehave badly with a dead battery, and the ticking sound can be the starter attempting to engage by failing due to the battery.

Mikell H: it is probably a dead battery or a loose battery connection.. wiggle the terminal wires that are connected to the battery and try to crank it again
