Can insurance repair estimate be changed?
I had some storm damage to the siding and I received an estimate to fix it. I turned in the estimate and received a check from the insurance company. The contractor came out to fix it. However, when he tried to buy siding to match what I have, it is no longer being sold in the color and size I have. So now instead of replacing rows of siding he will have to take down all the siding on that wall and put new up so that it lines up right. Will my insurance company accept an amended estimate?

Iffy:  Yes have the contractor speak to the adjuster.

Some policies really WILL only replace the damaged section, even if it doesn't match. Some will replace all the siding on just the ONE side of the house, some will replace the entire house. Yes, insurance companies receive requests for supplemental payments ALL THE TIME. But you want to know up front, whether or not they'll honor it, BEFORE you commit to the contractor to have your whole house resided.

Ginger:  Don't do anything without talking to the adjuster first. Often the adjuster has resources to find the type of siding you need and if it can't be located, he can give you answers as to whether your policy will cover the additional costs or not. I've dealt with contractors who just haven't looked everywhere they possibly can to find what they need and some just want to go with the contacts they have to purchase supplies. Usually, they get a huge discount on those supplies and if their supplier doesn't have it, they'll tell the customer, "it can't be found". What they really mean is, "I'm not going to look everywhere because I'll lose money on this deal if I pay the full price for materials". Call your adjuster/agent/company.
